On October 23rd 2011 Bad Afro Records will re-issue the Baby Woodrose album Love Comes Down. For many people this can be considered the “lost” Baby Woodrose album. It was originally released in 2006 and followed the succesful Money For Soul album.
At the time Love Comes Down was only released in Scandinavia and not many people outside here ever got the chance to hear it. Which is a shame as it contains a great mix of pretty straight forward garage rockers like “Born to Lose” and “Kitty Galore” surrounded by beautiful moodier songs like “No Other Girl” and “All Over Now”. Not forgetting the epic title track that somehow predicts the more spacier material on the later Baby Woodrose albums. The vinyl version of Love Comes Down was only released in 500 copies which makes it the most rare Baby Woodrose LP to date.
But that will change now when Bad Afro will release it again – this time with extra material included with the LP. The 1st press of 500 copies on black vinyl will include a free 7” single on 33 1/3 rpm with two exclusive songs recorded at the same sessions as Love Comes Down. We are talking two hard stoner rock songs called Cherry Bomb and The Keeper that together clocks in at more than 12 minutes. Guest appearances by Eduardo Martinez (The Flaming Sideburns) and Yebo (The Tremolo Beer Gut).
Love Comes Down featured the original Baby Woodrose line-up: Lorenzo Woodrose on guitar/vocals, Fuzz Daddy on drums and The Moody Guru on bass (the two last mentioned ...

Telstar Sound Drone formed in 2007 when Hans Beck convinced Mads Saaby to join him in a project called Les Aprés L’amour Sonnes, an artist collective working with media such as sound and video. The first project was to add sound to old educational movies, playing along with the projections. With the addition of Sean Jardenbæk and Mads Løwe the project turned into a band and settled with the name Telstar Sound Drone.
The band recorded a self-titled EP that led to a show at Roskilde Festival in 2009. After that Telstar Sound Drone took a break while internal problems almost destroyed the band. At one point Hans Beck was the only member of the band playing all the instruments. The problems were solved and in February 2011 they recorded two brand new songs at the Black Tornado studio in Copenhagen with this single in mind.
Telstar Sound Drone cleverly blend shoegazer, drone and psychedelic rock and even though the noise breaks are quite breathtaking the music is always melodic making this release one of the most promising singles on Bad Afro for a long time.
The Telstar Sound Drone line-up is: Sean Jardenbæk (Vocals, Guitar), Mads Løwe (Bass), Mads Saaby (Guitar) and Hans Beck (Drums). The two last mentioned also play in Baby Woodrose. www.telstarsounddrone.com

After more than 25 years on the outskirts of the Danish rock scene On Trial have decided to pull the plug. No more On Trial. On Trial have more than a handful of albums out on labels like Tee Pee, Delerium and Bad Afro and have played their own kind of stonerrock years before the term was even invented. Members of On Trial have also given birth to other projects like Baby Woodrose, Dragontears, Spids Nøgenhat and Aron.
This 2x7” includes 4 songs. Bolt of Force and No Beginning were recorded some time ago as the first session for a new album that never was finished. 13 is Just a Number and Flaws were recorded only just recently and mark the final On Trial recordings ever.
The single is delivered in a gatefold 7” sleeve and all 500 copies will have unique artwork. On Trial will be silkscreening and painting each individual sleeve so no sleeve will be identical. Destined to become a collectors item on the release day May 30th. No reprint garanteed.
On Trial will play their last show June 3rd 2011 at Loppen in Copenhagen.

In 2011 it’s 10 years ago that Lorenzo Woodrose started his own label Pan Records and released the Baby Woodrose debut album Blows Your Mind. The album is still a favourite among many Baby Woodrose fans and along the years the album has sold almost 10.000 copies on LP and CD and an unknown amount of downloads. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary Bad Afro will release Mindblowing Seeds & Disconnected Flowers April 25th – a collection of 15 of the original 4 track demos that led to the release of Blows Your Mind. Below Lorenzo Woodrose explains how the album came about:
“In the late summer of 1999 I was in quite a difficult situation, having no home, no job, no girlfriend, no money and perhaps worst of all, the band I was playing the drums in at the time lost our guitarist, so I was even fearing I was without a band, something that has always meant a lot to me. Usually, I ended up crashing on the couch of my friend The Hobbit and often in our rehearsal room in a northwest industrial area of Copenhagen. Sometime during that summer I had also been introduced to the magic of the Woodrose seeds and somehow the experience, combined with my rather desperate state of mind, spawned a creative outburst of unforeseen proportions.
I decided to call the project Baby Woodrose, because several of the songs (Baby Blows, Living A Dream, Spinning Wheels) reflected my experience with the seeds earlier that summer. I had a vision of a vast ocean and I saw what I believe was an image o...

Dragontears is ready to release their 3rd album following 2000 Micrograms From Home from 2007 and Tambourine Freak Machine from 2008. The album is called Turn On Tune In Fuck Off!! and will be released November 1st on Bad Afro Records on LP/CD and Download.
Dragontears is featuring members of Baby Woodrose and On Trial and this will be the final album in the Dragontears triologi. From now on the freakier and more experimenting parts of main man Lorenzo Woodrose´songwriting, which Dragontears very much represents, will be incorborated into the music on future Baby Woodrose albums.
Turn On Tune In Fuck Off!! contains 6 songs of a very diverse nature of which 4 are in English and two are in Danish language. There is “No Salvation” which can be described as groovy doomsday funk (!?) while “My Friend” is purely accustic. “Time Of No Time” is colourful psycedelic rock with fantastic dual vocals that ends in a drone while “William” is drone all the way through and clocks in at almost 14 minutes.
The theme of the album is doomsday and it is the closest Lorenzo Woodrose has ever been to writing a concept album. He has been inspired by various conspiracy theories and the gloomy lyrics and underlying message can be boiled down to one line from “Time Of No Time”: “The raven is coming, end of transmission”.
Turn On Tune In Fuck Off!! will be released as LP/CD and Download November 1st. First print of 500 copies of the LP will include a free 7” featuring the two exclusive tr...

When Bad Afro Records started out in 1996 there was only focus on the Scandinavian rock scene and bands likeThe Hellacopters, Baby Woodrose, Turbonegro, The Flaming Sideburns etc. That changed in 2009 when the label released the two first 7”s with bands from outside Scandinavia and now follows the first album. The shift in release policy was largely caused by our love for The Dolly Rocker Movement; a psychedelic folk band from Australia. And we are thrilled to release their 3rd album “Our Days Mind The Tyme” 22.02.10.
The Dolly Rocker Movement formed in late 2002 in the inner surrounds of Sydney, Australia. They are influenced by late 60´s garage, psychedelia and West Coast folk. The charismatic band leader Daniel Poulter writes beautiful and well-crafted songs and beneath the psychedelic and colourful surface The Dolly Rocker Movement is simply a great pop band with a destinctive sound of their own.
“Our Days Mind the Tyme” owes it’s genesis to the psychedelic 60s, and the influence of Sky Saxon, Arthur Lee and Syd Barrett, yet sparkles as bright, and fresh as the morning sun. From the baroque pop of “A Sound for Two”, to the tight garage licks of “My Heavenly Way” and “Sold for Sinners”, to the billowing pop elegance of “The Only One” and “The Ecstacy Once Told”, this is an album touched by the hand of spiritual enlightenment.
When Bad Afro releassed the first single from the album last year it became “The Coolest Song In The World” on Little Stevens radio ne...
