There are still people, who believe that the home of Santa Claus (aka Father Christmas, or Joulipukki in Finnish) is on the North Pole. But actually his real home is in the mountains of Korvantunturi at the Arctic Circle in Lapland, Finland.
So it feels natural to these 3 Ladies from Kuopio, to do a Santa Twist. Compared to their rougher Garagepunk tunes this comes sweet and light as a snowflake - a Christmas Song, which goes as well beyond the season.
Special Season's Greetings and kiitos to Vilunki 3000, Olli Äx, Jyrki Äx, Sami and Jaakko Viitalähde

The Micragirls, the marvellous drum-organ-guitar-trio, did the 'Wild Girl Walk' at the Altai Studio, Helsinki (with noisepunknig Pentti Dassum on the mix and 22PP's Asko on the coffee machine)
If you like your sound wild and raw, primitive and ramshackle, blaring out of tiny micra-car speakers, all windows rolled down for fresh northern wind in the face, then this is for you.
Risu keeps good beats rolling on and on, jumps and stomps even if the skins are ripped apart. Kata's organ keeps flying loops through the garage not puzzled when her old Rocket smells funny and burned while Mari's guitar trashes and cuts it's way , sharp like a cutlass in the jungle, through the orgiastic happening of yells and screams.
And in the turmoil of speedy noise once in a while you will be wrapped up for a recovery in the silky backdrop of darker moments, sweet and twanging micra-ballads. The only cover in the 12 song collection, "Funnel Of Love", gives a hint from which era the 3 Ladies from Kuopio once draw their influences from.
Sure, their own stuff is still running on 60s fuel, but is so much now and their own. Heavy Trash friend Jon Spencer from NY together with Matt Verta-Ray joined for "Out Of Tune" vocals. Well,... what can we say..."Girls go Crazy". They even dare to do an "Electric Chair Twist". Disturbing? Micragirls turned on the switch. Really cool, no - really hot Bone Voyage release this fall.

How was your summer?
This digital only single is the pre-runner for their upcoming Album, entitled "Wild Girl Walk"

This single, as a 7" vinyl a collectors item, was originally released in 1986 on Pygmi Records. It's the first recording 22-Pistepirkko sing in english and so a pre-runner to their english sung debut album Kings Of Hong Kong. Also musically it showcases the foundation of what drove them on their very own route through the world of Pop.

Married couple playing and singing rockmusic out of a wood cabin in the village of Sahalahti, Finland. If they don't do music they do art - paintings, sculptures, animated films. Or they would drive their tractor and help the far away neighbours with the chopped wood. back to music: Although they have a good beat going, theirs is far from being a soundtrack for an average midsummer village dance. Instead their debut consists of 12 turbo diamonds, all veritable underground hits.
Anssi has a distinctive voice, a semi-acoustic guitar and two drums (kicksnare and kickbass, both played with selfmade pedals). As a one man orchestra he made a hell of a racket, that resembled rock'n'roll greats from Elvis to The Misfits and Nirvana, but sounded completely original and different. (Just check his debut "Kyklops vs. Svesse", Bone Voyage DoubleCD) Maria his wife already put some cream on top on Kyklops vs. Svesse backing on some songs with vocals, keyboards, maracas, cymbal and other things. But on the new album they found a new balance which boosts the couple's music to new horizons with strong songs and heartfelt fresh vocals. Did I mentioned the 4-to-the-floor-cowbells?
Maybe the rural environment has something to do with the timeless qualities in their music. You don't bother with the current hipster trends when you live in the woods. The duo writes basically simple and short rock tunes, but their sense of melody and dynamics are classic. Compared to the contemporary powe...

Joensuu 1685 is a rock trio from Finland, formed in Helsinki 2007 by two brothers Mikko Joensuu, Markus Joensuu and (of same name but not a relative) Risto Joensuu, all in their early twenties. They love to get drowned in overtones, feedbacks and noises, due to paint a soft but sizzling stream of big beauty. Repetitive bass riffs, powerful yet pretty restrained drumming, extensive guitar overtones, pastoral organs and Mikko's singing creates original soundscapes and adds something new to the scenes where they might draw their influences from: bluesy garage psychedelia from the late 60s to the wall of sounds in the 80s and early 90s. The band's self-titled debut album was recorded at 22-Pistepirkko's own Altai studios and co-produced by Asko Keränen.
