  • Pure Shoegazing Feedback Candy!!
The Music Liberation Front is a rather strange entity forging it's own path along rocks history, never depending on its members or its global positioning. Bring pure simple krautrock, sometimes complex punk electro, sometimes just dreamy feedback shoegazing pop and sometimes none of the above.
This is possibly one of the most experimental bands you'll ever come across, and even after several listenings you're still not to sure what will come next. But when it comes, YES release...
ThemLF, like it predecessor the Ultra Wide Band, have collaborated with several influential musicians: Joe Foster, the pied piper of feedback himself; Agaric aka Patrik Skoog, one of minimal technos most underestimated producers; House duo Air Bureau; the king of Swedish ambient drone VED, and the powerpop meister Gustaf Kjellvander, to mention a few.
Now having moved its roots to Berlin, themLF has cut its live members down to four and incorporated the new blood of designer Road 395 and Lindsy, along with oldtimers the unbearable Phooey and the stunningly unbalanced Penny Chaser.
Also cutting down the length of every songs to an explosive three something minutes and turning the volume all the way up to 11, the new ThemLF gives you rawer but still enchantingly crafted sound scapes, where every scream, pip or buzz has its place in this insane reality.
the latest installment to themLF in Berlin... sounding even better and heavier than ever....

  • VED aka Mattias Nihlen is one of the most square circles you will ever come across. Being an original member of Babalu, The Ultra Wide Band, Testbild! and The Music Liberation Front Sweden, it's a wonder he has any time to himself. VEDs almost triangular look on life is bizarre at the best of times, but this real life eccentric makes some of the most intriguingly scented driftwood music around.
In the Taygetos EP, this original connoisseur of what we now like to call the drone scene, delivers four shining tracks ranging from the mid 70t's mood music of Food, Ignite or the amazing Taygetos Theme, all of which wouldn't be out of place in the original Stepford Wives Score or on the Virgin Suicides extended DVD.
The EP goes off into the soft funkadelic groovings of Radio's Lament that builds and builds, layer upon layer, up up and away... and then slowly calmly gently back again.
Just light up a fire in the old log cabin, watch the last snow fall as spring kicks in, finish off the mulled wine that's been begging to be drunk for an age and then pray to the Gods of the past... NOW think VED!
