  • South Africa and the world music scene should prepare themselves for a new exciting classy African jazz outfit. Produced and composed by the talented Wandile Moya, Afrotraction is the epitome of African soul and jazz and features the legendary McCoy Mrubata on saxophone and the beautiful Siyavuya Makuzeni on additional vocals.

Afrotraction’s first album, “Soul Deep” was released in 2008 and was received very successfully, now the second Afrotraction release, lead by the uber talented Wandile Moya, is awaited with much anticipation.
Nothing could have prepared record company executive, Chris Ghelakis, for the music demo that landed on his desk in late 2007. A demo CD from a little known young talent from Nelpruit in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province started a journey of musical awe. Mzwandile Moya, whose humble beginnings started in this small town, is a singer, songwriter, bassist, guitarist, pianist, backing vocalist and programmer – all without any formal training whatsoever. This is undoubtedly raw talent as never seen before.
Known as Wandile to his friends and family, Moya made the journey to Johannesburg after receiving a call from Ghelakis. Stunned, and thinking that this talent was too good to be true, Ghelakis needed validation that this young man was in fact the talent on the demo. After a brief showcasing at CSR Studios, Ghelakis, blown away to say the least, not only offered Wandile a recording contract, but also a job working as a producer in his st...

  • Twenty-nine years ago, Zan der Tyler was born in Parow, Cape Town. Today he is known as Jack Parow, original donker dodgy afrikaans rapper. Contrary to popular belief, his wild-fire success did not happen overnight. Jack started out rapping with crews from the Cape Flats and has been at it for nine years. It's been almost two years since his breakthrough in 2009 and since Jack Parow has released his first self-titled full length album that struck gold within two weeks of release and went platinum within a year; headlined at major festivals in South Africa; toured Europe and played before packed out shows there. His songs are hits on national radio stations and he has been on prime TV shows and on covers and centre-folds of publications in South Africa and in Europe.

His much anticipated follow-up album, Eksie Ou, is in a class of its own. While you can still hear the resemblance of the first album, the improvement of the lyrics, tracks, & mixing is very evident, making the album full of potential singles. With collaborations with Pierre Greeff of Die Heuwels Fantasties, Francois van Coke of Van Coke Kartel, David Kramer, Gazelle, and PH Fat, these tracks give off a hard party, a laugh, and lethargic memories of an 80′s/90′s kid. This album makes the perfect Christmas present for any free-thinking individual who enjoys Afrikaans music!

  • Lonehill Estate, four piece band from Johannesburg, are one of Southern Africa’s top performing artists. They have coined the term neon-rock to best describe their style. EP Phone Home is Lonehill Estate’s third official release and contains their number 1 hit singles Gangstar, Technoband and Daans! The EP also features the band’s eco friendly chart topper The Green Pocket, a face melting dub-step version of Daans! and the brand spanking new offering from the neon rockers called ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE FACE. An absolute must for Lonehill Estate fans and party rockers all over the world.

A cheeky blend of electro-pop and rock, their current material has evolved from their previous more acoustic guitar-driven sound. The band have been together since 2005 and have seen a few member changes over the years. Their current line-up is tighter than ever with original members Nathan Ro (lead vox, guitar) and Dave Waugh (guitar) being joined by Mark Van Den Berg (bass) and Herman Roslee (drums). Their songs Gangstar, Green Pocket and Techno band all achieved chart success but it was their most recent hit Daans! that claimed the number one spot on South Africa’s national Top 40 station, 5fm. This digital EP precedes their anticipated third full album, which will be released in March 2012.

  • For over 20 years, Victor Khojane, or Dr Victor as he is more affectionately known, has been crafting and creating an uplifting, up-tempo sound that has earned this singer, musician, songwriter and producer an enviable reputation on the South African music scene and many devoted fans all over the world. Indeed, Dr. Victor has enjoyed a fabulous career. Together with his group, The Rasta Rebels, he is one of the busiest live musicians, doing a range of events and has performed from dorp to dorp, club to club, festival to festival and corporate to corporate. It’s all a long – but very satisfying – way from Dr. Victor’s roots in Kimberley, South Africa where he first formed a group called CC Beat while still at school.

Influenced by the likes of South African bands such as Blondie and Papa, Harare, Jonathan Butler and American teen sensations The Jackson Five, the group was determined to find success. In 1984, shortly after finishing school, Victor and his friends headed for Johannesburg where they became a popular nightclub band. They have been unstoppable ever since. Initially, they were a session band called Taxi who did several remakes of hits of their time: one of these being the controversial release of “Give Me Hope, Johanna”. A few more name changes and record label jumps later, Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels rapidly became a household name, earned themselves a SAMA for One Goal, One Wish in 1994 and ended up performing alongside international acts such as Paul Si...
