    Singeln “The Yellow Fields” är ett första smakprov från Johan Örjanssons fjärde album ”Melancholic Melodies for Broken Times”, release den 1 juni 2012. Albumet är denna gång producerat i en ladugård i skogarna utanför Fegen – så långt ifrån Facebook, Twitter, internet och telefoner man kan komma.

    Johan Örjansson har redan berört en hel stad och har egentligen inte hunnit längre på sin resa. Hemma i Falkenberg spelar han för slutsålda hus och har en entusiastisk publik som kan hans låtar så väl att de spontant sjunger med. En som blev knockad av Johans show var den amerikanska artisten Israel Nash Gripka, som direkt bad honom att följa med som support på den kommande Skandinavien-turnén. Nu står dörren öppen för Johan Örjansson, som utan tvekan förtjänar sitt rykte som en fantastisk live- och skivartist. Dags för alla utanför Halland att upptäcka honom!

    Johan Örjansson, född 1981, är singer/songwriter från Falkenberg. Första albumet, ”Empty Road”, släpptes 2007 och uppföljaren ”Gone” kom följande år. 2010 släpptes ”Orange” och nu i maj är det alltså dags för fjärde plattan ”Melancholic Melodies for Broken Times”. Där visar Johan att han utvecklats ytterligare, både som sångare och låtskrivare.

    The new Kontra-Musik release aims for the dancefloor. With two stunning Rivet (Naked Index) originals plus an anthem alert Marcel Fengler remix, this EP will make us dance. Of course, as always, with a bit of a Kontra-Musik twist.

    Rivet puts a lot of effort in his sounds and his production. This is not another copycat. The Rivet sound is after just a few releases a hallmark of dirty funk and originality blended with cinematic beauty.
    First out on the EP Amid the Roar is Metrist, a sexy march that blends the stiffness 80-ties disco with techno from the future. A distorted bass line meets clever drums, metallic stabs and a beautiful string keeps the track in the moody Kontra-Musik territory. On the b-side Marcel Fengler takes his turn on Metris. He keeps the string of the original, chops up the bass and creates a dancefloor monster with a big anthem alert stamp on it. Amid the Roar ends with what might be the strongest track on the ep. With Sleepwalker Rivet brings us down with a broken and mud-drenched version of the Rivet sound. Medieval darkness turned into funk and beauty, with string and voices bringing thought back to Peter Benisch and his excellent Sound Track Saga album. Enjoy!

    Andreas Sundgren är en fantastisk låtskrivare.

    Saken blir inte sämre av att Andreas Sundgren även är en fantastisk sångare.

    I över tjugo års tid har Sundgren skrivit låtar och haft i tankarna att göra en platta, men annat har kommit i vägen. När han nu äntligen kommit till skott fanns det en hel del låtar att välja bland. De nio låtar som finns på »The Road North« är de som har överlevt en skoningslös gallringsprocess. Det är de låtar som oavsett om det är nya eller gamla är angelägna för Sundgren.

    De sparsamma arrangemangen sätter låtar och röst i fokus och det bär. Hela vägen. Det är naket, avskalat och gåshudsframkallande.

    Andreas Sundgren har som sagt skrivit låtar länge och artister som Björn Skifs, Monia och Caroline Miskovsky har tidigare plockat upp hans sånger.

    Pontus Snibb has through the years proved that he's one of Sweden's best singers and guitar players – with a long-lasting, productive career as a recording and live artist with bands such as SNiBB and Bonafide, who are currently getting a lot of attention in Europe. This coming February, another chapter to the story begins with the release of the debut album Loud Feathers from the newly formed power trio Pontus Snibb 3.

    The album was recorded in less than a week, mostly live, in the respected Gig Studio in Stockholm, Sweden together with Conny Wall (who've worked with Ane Brun, Electric Boys, Peter Bjorn & John, Imperial State Electric to name a few). Many bands talk about capturing that raw, spontaneous energy but instead lock themselves in the studio for six months, spending their time moving the kick drum a few milliseconds this or that way.

    “I thoroughly loved all three days of recording this album”, main man Pontus says. “Just three guys having a good time, playing live in the studio with almost no overdubs, the same way all my favorite albums were made. Just playing groovy music together. We could have called it a live album.”

    Pontus Snibb 3 is, on one hand, a brand new band, on the other a continuation of Pontus' previous solo career, and this album is thereby a follow-up of sorts to Admiral Street Recordings 1 and 2 – the latter having also been released by Rootsy back in 2009.
