It's the first recording 22-Pistepirkko sing in english and so a pre-runner to their english sung debut album Kings Of Hong Kong. Also musically it showcases the foundation of what drove them on their very own route through the world of Pop.

    Recorded in just 10 days at the band’s own Altai studios 22-Pistepirkko step forward with their idea of impressive simplicity, lively trio-playing and good melodies. After periods of heavy experiments in electronic production work, their current concept of keeping things simple was already their approach for the Drops+Kicks (2005) album sessions. Now, with the new album one can hear it in full bloom.

    P-K Keränen’s vocals and guitar playing have gathered depth that one doesn’t hear too often. Additionally, drummer Espe Haverinen simplified his playing to a great effect and sings more touching songs then on any other album. Asko Keränen's sonic bass, weird organs and effects add a room with a view, so specific 22pp and just right for producer Kramer to play with those bits and pieces in a most gentle and subtle way.

    2005 album. A special treat for you. This here is not the "short" 14 song version you might have seen on CD. This here is from the double vinyl album (and France-only 2CD) with 22 songs. Here you'll find those buried hits as " Door To Door Man", "Sweet Boy", "Horses And Cards" and "Sad Lake City (Demo)" along with "I Knew" "Rat King" or "X-(Wo)Men". The album has the song order pretty different from the CD, for a new Drops&Kicks listening experience. Their 10th album was recorded with Bare Bone Mobile facilities and at Svenska Gramofon, Gothenborg, SWE. Kalle Gustafsson (The Soundtrack of Our Lives) has produced while fellow TSOOL mates (Ebbot sings and Martin Hederos plays piano ans keys) helped out. 22-P fan John Hanlon (Neil Young's sound engineer) flew over from sunny California to Scandinavia to put his hands on a handful of the final mixes.     As a side project outside their 'official' albums, 22-Pistepirkko also wrote and recorded the soundtrack to 'Downhill City', a Finnish feature film by Hannu Salonen, telling the story of contrasting characters in today's Berlin and starr. Franca Potente and Teemu Aromaa. The band relished the opportunity to tread new territory, combining a specially-written score with reworked tracks from previous albums (including a flamenco mix of 'Let The Romeo Weep' featuring Hanoi Rocks guitarist Andy McCoy and a smashing remix of Tokyo Tiger by Russian tech-head Aleksei Borisov).
