Already when recording his debut solo album "Last Train To Salinas", an impressive collection of deeply resonant Elvis covers, Aaron Sutcliffe was speaking about recording an album including only Beatles songs.
It's taken a couple of years, but now Aaron has finally recorded his Beatles album. Fourteen great songs that constitute an album titled "Wavertree", ranging from fairly unknown compositions to some of the biggest hits from the pens of Lennon & McCartney. Aaron Sutcliffe's outstanding vocal performances and the dynamic electronic arrangements throughout the album really give new life to these classic, inspirational songs. Wavertree will surely sit alongside any collection of Beatles albums without shame.

Following the barn storming success of "Last Train To Salinas", the 2002 homage to the Presley portfolio, the new album "Wavertree" has proven to be a rooftop-shaking romp through the sometimes unturned corners of the Beatles late album crackers. "Wavertree" sees Aaron turning up the power of pop with 14 ripping renditions of Lennon and McCartney penned tracks including the single "Got To Get You Into My Life". The soul endearing swagger of this single is thanks to the collaboration between Aaron and electronic rhythm guru Andreas Tilliander, truly a match made in pop heaven if ever there was one!

Every decent record label releases Christmas songs – and so does SubSpace. Aaron Sutcliffe takes on Elvis Presley's "Blue Christmas" in a typical Aaron Sutcliffe fashion. That is: cool electronic and stunning vocals! All together, we give this one away almost for free, as our little Christmas gift. So, from all of us, to all of you: Merry Christmas!!

In the world of Aaron Sutcliffe's, alternative club music and Elvis Presley do not only exist side by side, in fact they work very well together. When Aaron's voice is woven together with electronic grooves and distinctive beats, exciting music evolves as if it was the King in a new suit!
Most of the songs on Aaron's debut album Last Train to Salinas originate from the period after Elvis's return from military service. "When it comes down to fame it was the 1950's that saw Elvis's career peak. But artistically it was during part of the 60's and the early 70's that the best songs were produced" says Aaron (also known as Johan Malmgren of S.P.O.C.K and Elegant Machinery fame).
Aaron's thrilling vocals and musical interpretations profoundly bring new life into the King's old classics. Last Train to Salinas is a very versatile album with righteous hits like Fever, heavy club tracks including Can't Help Falling in Love and minimalistic sound experiments such as in Memories. Every track is equally tasteful and intuitively produced and programmed by Eskil Simonsson (of Covenant) while focusing on exploiting the strong voice of Aaron's.
-
"Elvis Presley was discharged from the military service on March the 5th, 1960 and by April the 3rd, he had recorded some of his most outstanding vocal performances of his career. 'Fever' was one of them." says Aaron. "Fever" is also the first single taken from Aaron Sutcliffe's debut album "Last Train to Salinas", produced by Eskil Simonsson of Covenant.
