    Aché means positive energy, a powerful and positive energy that flows through the artist's personality and music.

    Ove-Kenneth Nilsen was given that nickname by the capoeira master China during a trip to Brazil. Axé (pronounced ah-che) was also quickly adopted as his nickname outside capoeira circles.

    While working on a music video on the Caribbean island of Trinidad, he met Mikkel Aakervik, a driving force in the Oslo soul/funk scene. Aakervik invited Aché to perform at the Groove Experience club night with his band Vibe.

    The first person, however, to recognise Aché's potential was the multi-talented Preben Grieg-Halvorsen, who helped turn Aché's passion into a serious project.
