  • Irish born Adam McCormack has lived in Denmark for four years now. Besides his studies at IHK, Adam has spent his time in Denmark producing quite a big pile of recordings of his own songs and sent them out to friends, foras and sites. Sometime in the beginning of 2009 Adams hard disk holding all his recordings was deleted. Hearing that Adams' production was lost, we at Play/Rec realised that his songs were more than "just" demos. We had fallen in love with what we had heard songs and the thought of losing Adams production from the last four years was almost unbearable. So together with Adam we decided to track down as many of the lost demos as possible and get them documented on a official release.

We managed to collect 24 songs recorded in the period 2006 to 2009. We found these on different Internet sites, at friends and fans who as we felt that Adams songs had "something". Maybe this is not a "real" record release. But the music is of a kind that makes the media irrelevant. Now we share this music with you. Four EP's that each holds six songs put together by Adam.

    Adams words about this collection:
"Imagine I had Hands split in summer 2008 and for a year afterwards I did not record at home very much. It was not until May this year that I began to record again. The 2009 songs here are similar to those from 2006 on the first ep in that they are nearly all about a drastic change in my life."

"The songs on this Ep cover the whole 2006-2009 period. Half of the songs are the kind of riff based, math rock songs I started out playing and the other half are perhaps the closest I have come to pop music. Listening back to these songs I can clearly see the link between the two halves."

"Imagine I had Hands became a real band in 2007 and we began to write as a group soon afterwards. The songs were mostly heavy jams. This seemed to make me record more acoustic, mellow and traditional songs at home."

    Adams words about this collection:
"An Ep of firsts, my first attempts at singing, my first melodic almost traditionally structured songs. I had recorded ideas at home for years before moving to Denmark but finding myself in a new country, without a band, left me with no option other than to sing myself if I wanted to complete the songs. I used the name Imagine I had Hands and created a MySpace profile."
