Aerial´s latest album “Put it this way in headlines” is getting some great rewievs in Germany so we are gearing up to release the 3rd single/video from the album. The single is “Vacant dreamers” and it´s definately the least radiofriendly song on the album. Perfect. The single will be out on July 8th and the video was shot in Sandviken/Gävle by Victor Claeson as usual.

After five weeks of intense post-production, it's finally time to release the third Aerial full-length album. It will be a thirteen track piece called "Put it this way in Headlines" (a phrase borrowed from the great poet and visionary Allen Ginsberg). The music differs significantly from Aerial´s earlier works. When they did promotion for their last record (the half hour post-rock experiment called "The Sentinel"), Joakim suddenly decided to go on a trip by himself to Peru. Aerial, in need of a bass playing substitute, called in old friend Niklas Wennerstrand.
They started writing songs together and when Joakim finally returned, Niklas refused to leave.
Aerial, now a quintet, started to sound differently than before. The stagnant post-rock scene seemed more and more uninteresting and the band started to make music in a more playful and unpretentious way.
"We've never really had a plan in making music, even though we've said so in interviews to look cool and academic, and every step we took led us further away from post-rock and anything related. We started thinking about press-shoots with us killing doves and played more untuned than ever, both mentally and instrumentally.
Some may say we have strolled off in our expression, but in fact this is where Aerial once started off."
The Sentinel was the exception, and the new album connects seamlessly to the work they did on "Black Rain from the Bombing" and even earlier adventures. In fact, much of the material on t...

This is the brand new Aerial single "All refrain" taken from their forthcoming 3rd album "Put it this way in headlines". An amazing effort and three years in the making, Aerial continues to hold their ground as one of the best bands in their world. A real treat for anyone into Sonic Youth or Pavement.

Aerial return with a brand new EP exactly 1 year after "The Sentinel" was released. Musially it has more to do with their debutalbum "Black rain from the bombing" than "The Sentinel". This new EP contains 5 songs built on guitars, improvisation, love for cinema and the creative collective that is Aerial. A rollercoaster trip through the finest guitarindie that has seen the light of day and through what seems like impossibe passages of improvisation.
The legion of dynamic dischord is the 1st EP in a series of 3. Fantastic as always!

New single from Swedens psych/postrock act Nr1. This track is taken from their 2nd album The Sentinel. Driving guitars, walls of noise, beaytiful melodies. Get it.

Aerial have been busy bees. In one year they have toured Sweden, toured Europe, supported great bands like Mono, The Bell Orchestre and Arab Strap to name a few. Released „Black rain from the bombing“ AND recorded their 2nd album „The Sentinel“. Amazing work. They have been locked up in the studio and have come out with something that is more like a symphony rock theme album than an indie/post rock album. We are beyond excited! This album is maybe one of the finest work that has been done with guitars.
Aerial says“We started making the material for "The Sentinel" directly after having recorded
"Black rain from the bombing". It took aproximately a year of writing and re-writing the songs and two weeks to record them. The music on "Black rain..." has a kind of relaxed and delicate mood to it, and for this follow up we wanted to make songs that was more intense and direct. One of the many underlying themes on "Black rain from the bombing" was the meeting between man and machine/technology, the new album has inverted this theme, and focuses more on technology in itself and what it might feel like for the machine to meet organic life forms. Also a different perspective on human life/the human world in general, where "Black rain from the bombing" more focused on the shattered individual in information chaos, "The Sentinel" holds, and explores, a perspective from the ones creating and controlling the so called "chaos" that makes up the world.”
This is the album of the y...

Aerial will release their 2nd album "The Sentinel" on January 31st. This is a part of that album. The song is called "My god it´s full of stars" and it is part of the 9 parts long materpiece called "The Sentinel". Once again Aerial deliver amazing guitar work and a dynamic that is rarely seen. For fans of Sonic Youth and Mono, but ofcourse evryone´s invited! It´s free!

You mix the Sonic Youth soundworld with extremely beautiful passages and melodies and you get a hint of what Aerial sound like. Music that takes unexpected turns and pulls it off. For fans of Sonic Youth, Mono, Motorpsycho (Blizzard era). A truly great album!
