Kiernan Forbes, A.K.A, is a South African Hip Hop Recording Artist, voice over artist, event MC and Music Producer affiliated with the widely acclaimed South African (SA) music production group, IV League. A.K.A was nominated for a Kora award while with the hip hop group Entity in 2004, plus received the Best Newcomer Award at the Hype Awards in 2009. He was also an MTV Base Brand New Artist for December 2010 As new and upcoming artist that show great potential of being a rising star in the SA Hip Hop scene he was chosen by MTV Base to showcase his talent on MTV Base Brand New Artist of the Month. A.K.A was the supporting act for the 2010 Rick Ross concert in Cape Town, plus he performed at the ESPN 2010 Annual Basketball Event in Pretoria. He was also the Official MC and Host of the MTV Base MAMA 2010 Private Media Event while performing at the Rize Concert in JHB as supporting act.
AKA also recently received 3 nominations for the 2011 Channel O music Awards and is one of the nominees for GQ best Dressed Man 2011. He will also feature on HYPE cover for Dec/Jan issue. A.K.A is also a brand ambassador for Head Honcho Clothing SAA and Flud Watches Africa. His much anticipated début full artist album, “Altar Ego”, which includes both versions of the smash hit "Victory Lap" plus the hit "I Want It All" featuring Khuli Chana & Prokid that was released on the 24/7/366 EP distributed online, is due for release in August 2011!
