  • This is the re-release (limited to 500) of the second Apoptose album originaly released in, 2002 nearly two years after the release of the CD "Nordland," this time treading on unexpected musical paths. Only occasionally does one still feel a faint breeze from the barren landscapes of the north, for on "Blutopfer" a special ritual of the south is celebrated: the Easter drumming processions of the little Spanish village of Calanda. Following a stay in Calanda in 1998, Apoptose could not forget the impression this festival made, since the primordial power of these archaic rhythms and the magic of the blood that flows from the hands of the drummers touches anyone who has ever witnessed it. The decision was made then to compile an album from the hours of documentary recordings which came into being during this time. However, it was not until the year 2001 that the time was finally right to start the project that in 2002 reached its final form in the CD "Blutopfer." The title is the German term for "blood sacrifice."

  • Schattenmädchen (English:"shadow girl") has always been around, waiting patiently for seven years to step out of the shadows and reveal its face. Apoptose's third album explores dystopian locations: the undergrounds of Japanese megacities, the depths of worldwide data highways, the nightmares of little children. The seven tracks express images of a desolate and dying world, far removed from the solitude of the beloved Northern woods. A world lacking daylight and oxygen. A bleak vision of reality. Over the years, several of these tracks made their way to compilation CDs all over the globe. There they laid dormant to be reunited some day to form this album. In autumn 2006, Apoptose joined forces with Japanese cyberpunk author Kenji Siratori to complete the cycle. On this album, Apoptose works for the first time with spoken word lyrics. Featured languages are Japanese, English, and German. The tracks previously on compilations have been polished/remixed/rerecorded and renamed especially for the unique listening experience of Schattenmädchen. The CD is housed in an embossed 6-panel cardboard cover with an additional booklet. 7 tracks, 62 min. http://www.myspace.com/apoptose www.apoptose.net

  • This is the groundbreaking first album of germany´s dark ambient project Apoptose. For the first time now officially available for download.
This is the first release from the German one-man project who makes instrumental, mostly electronic music, with great depth and variety. “Nordland” is a beautiful journey expressed through the use of drums and orchestral soundscapes. The music has an arctic, barren atmosphere, with harsh industrial sounds that are combined with softer ambient passages and orchestral parts. Stunning artwork by Polygon completes the digipak, containing images of deserted archaic structures.
