During spring 2009, Bodebrixen have dedicated their time to the re-recording of their debut album Bodebrixen. Aske Bode has been in charge of the piano, synths, melodica and more, while Andreas Brixen has been the agent of the drums and the vocals. The album was produced in cooperation with Anders Schumann and Mikkel E Gemzøe (Anne Linnet, JaConfetti, Oh No Ono m.fl.), and together they have given Bodebrixen a new sound. The album is called ”WHATSINSIDESWHATSOUTSIDE” and will be released on the 12th of October.

On the debut album ”Bodebrixen”, which was released in 2008, Bode and Brixen recorded the eleven tracks. The sound was very indie and lo-fi, which enhanced Bodebrixen as the indieband with emphasis on the bitter-sweet text universe and the contrasting overly jolly music – somewhat in line with Scottish indie-pop band Belle And Sebastian. It was produced by the band and Danish multi-instrumentalist and producer Frederik Thaae, and released on Good Tape Records.

The trademark of Bodebrixen is still that their song writing takes a lot of inspiration from Swedish song writing tradition, and the craftsmanship of writing the good, simple song. Their lyrics have a distinct touch of irony and sweet bitterness, that is rarely heard in pop music.
