    With the addition of John Wreibo-Lindqwister, former vocalist of the hardcore band Lisa Gives Head, Cat Rapes Dog unleashed "The secrets of God" in 1998. In spite of wonderfully literate lyrics, this album was viewed as being musically soft while having little in common with Cat Rapes Dog's live sound. "The secrets of God" can be seen as a compromise between the old incarnations of the band and the new, more guitar-oriented powerhouse. Still, it holds such popular tracks as the two singles, "Down and Out" and "Motorman", as well as the Annelie-fronted "Human Remains", the chaotic "Key to Success" and the laidback "Liquids of my Life". Produced by Covenant's Eskil Simonsson.
