    Dance, You're on Fire has officially announced that their debut album 'Secret Chiefs' will be released on the 22nd of February in South Africa.
    'Secret Chiefs' is a collection of eleven radio friendly rock tracks which come together to offer an impressive debut album. The album was recorded in July/August 2010 at Anti Motion Studios in Johannesburg and mastered in Seattle, USA by Troy Glessner, who has worked previously with Death Cab For Cutie, Anberlin, Emery and As Cities Burn.
    Lyrically, the album deals with the highs and lows of a year in the life of vocalist Tom Manners, and transports the listener from moments of introspection and self-awareness to elation and excitement.
    As an album title, ‘Secret Chiefs’ relates to mythical characters which are believed to hold sway over the moral pathways human beings travel throughout their lives. This ties in well with the content of the album, suggesting that the good and bad that happens to us on daily basis might be more than just coincidence.
    The Johannesburg based rock group has been hard at work in 2010, playing high profile shows across the country and securing considerable radio and television coverage on 5fm, numerous campus radio stations and MK, for the first two singles from the album – namely ‘Blockade’ and ‘Little War’.
    In addition to this, Dance, You’re on Fire was also nominated for an MK Award in the Beste Nuweling category for 2011.
