DEVICE hails from Distrito Federal (Brazil), created in 2004, in order to propagate its ideas through aggressive lyrics and music. The lyrics deal with society, war, violence, death and anti-Christianity.
The “Behold Darkness” songs were used in the soundtrack of an independent movie “A Capital dos Mortos” (in English the translation would be “The Capital of The Dead”) - the first Brazilian full-length zombie themed movie.
In 2008 the band achieved a great conquer by reaching the second place in the Brazilian middle-West regional contest of W:O:A Metal Brazil, where the national contest winner would play the famous “Metal Battle” – at Germany festival “Wacken Open Air”. Consequently, the band was getting audience in Brasilia’s metal concerts, also winning a contest that gave the band an opportunity to play in the biggest rock festival in Latin America, the “Porão do Rock”. Then the band started to be viewed by friends and fans as a synonym of respect and perseverance.
