  • Obviously the world’s falling to pieces, and once again Gamla Pengar feels the urge to react.
Thus releasing their second ep in 2011.
Venting their disgust towards politicians who are merely puppeteers
in the hands of capitalism, and taking a stand for the people and environment,
which continually are forced aside. It’s been a rough year for the Gothenburg based band as well.
Broken bones, personal bankruptcy, and a total of $ 400 for eleven shows takes its toll. The new ep,
released by Beat Butchers, sounds accordingly. “Stekt orm” is a straggling punk ep, which proves Gamla Pengar
to be one of Sweden’s most interesting acts. Still it hasn’t solemnly been darkness.
The band’s debut left the critics unanimously longing for more. And there will be more. Besides “Stekt orm” and a planned European tour,
the buzz has spread over the Atlantic ocean. Early 2012 Washington based label Cricket Cemetery will release next coming 7”

Venting their disgust towards politicians who are merely puppeteers in the hands of capitalism, and taking a stand for the people and environment, which continually are forced aside. “Stekt orm” is an innate sequel to the bands critically acclaimed debut. Fueled by frustration, Gamla Pengar’s catchy rock driven punk indicates one of Sweden’s most interesting acts."

  • During the French revolution in 1792 the term ”Gamla Pengar” (Old Money) was coined, and enlightenment was a fact. A shift in time with needles and hi-fives, through empty museums and broken parking lots, resulted in a resurrection. Gamla Pengar is the return to the roots. What once got the blood flowing, that’s what Gamla Pengar is about. In these times when an increasing number people suppress their reactionary beliefs, Gamla Pengar is a reminder. It’s stripped down to basics, and that’s what punk’s about. From Gothenburg, Sweden, here's Mikey Lennartsson, Ted Fransson, Johan Meiton and Andreas Litfeldt as Gamla Pengar.
