The Gloria Story was founded in Skövde, Sweden, early 2009. The five members of the group had grown tired of their previous, sleepy small town bands and decided to put together a hard working, determined band of brothers, aiming at the top of the industry.
The Gloria Story was formed with the ambition of digging deep down to their various musical roots. Growing up with heroes like Kiss, Hellacopters, Cheap Trick, Mott the Hoople, Stones and even David Bowie The Gloria Story instantly found a natural path to follow.
With a handful of newly written contemporary songs, flavoured by the sounds of the 70’s and early 80’s, and a genuinely powerful and entertaining stage-show, the band has already proven itself to be one of the most interesting live-experiences in Scandinavia.
For The Gloria Story, who had always been outsiders, feeling restrained in school and at their various jobs, the band and the new unity they formed, feelt like coming home. Like a professional unit, ready to take on the world! Since the humble beginnings at local rock-clubs in their hometown the band has always pictured themselves’s playing the biggest venues and arenas – always aiming at the top.
Oh No is the first single off The Gloria Story’s forthcoming debut album. The song was recorded at Kingside Studios, Stockholm with Otto Wellton engineering the sound. The production was handeled by Boba Fett – well known pianist from both The Hellacopters and Lars Winnerbäcks band. Being true fans of The Hellacoters this cooperation was truly a dream come true for the band. The entire foundation of the song was recorded live. Boba was aiming at capturing a genuine, old School vibe, and the whole thing was recorded within three days. Backing vocals was sung by Linn Segolson and Clarisse Muvemba whom had previously worked with Anna Ternheim, The Hellacopters and The Solution to mention a few projects.
The song has a classic yet unique guitar-riff, powerful lyrics and a catchy, melodic chorus. It really resembles the power and passion of The Gloria Story.
During 2010 The Gloria Story will be busy touring venues all over Scandinavia in support of their single, and in order to make themselves well known for their music and their spectacular stage-performances. So get ready for
