  • All though more moody than previous releases, Jason Fine continues to play around with layered melodies and harmony mixed with raw and funky drum programming. The EP opens with the track Orange, a beautiful monotone organ based techno track, revealing hard times. Violet continues in the same vein. Blue melodies play around over minor organ chords and heavy kick drum. On the inner tracks Blue and Red Jason with confidence moves into the electro territory, still keeping emotion and atmosphere up front. Even though the concept behind this EP is the full color spectrum, the mood is all over blue.

Once again Jason proves to be the master of the simple but efficient melody. Just like for instance the musical mastermind of Gerald Donald, he manages to build glistering beauty out of basic musical elements. On the Colors EP Jason is transferring daily life experience into soul music like few others are capable of. Jason Fine is the signature sound of the pure and honest in electronic music.

Jason Fine released his debut album – Our Music Is A Secret Order on Kontra-Musik in 2008. Followed by Future Thought in 2009. Before that Jason released an EP on Omar-S´ FXHE label. Right now he is now busy setting up his own label, Minimal Mind Music. The EP is a collaborative release between Kontra-Musik and Minimal Mind Music.

  • The second full length release from Jason Fine, the master of the melodic bassline, the subtle pads and the delicate live feel drum programming, is out on Kontra-Musik.

The dance music producer today can, to categorize, be divided into two types. First we have the producer, and this is the majority - who skillfully manipulate sound to satisfy dance floors and clubs. Then there is the musician - a person who transforms human thought and emotion into music. This is the category that best describes Jason. What comes out of his studio is always something very personal and special. The sounds are old school but the outcome is so much Jason’s own, that if feels very fresh and new. On Future Thought, the follow up the much acclaimed album, Our Music is a Secret Order – released on Kontra-Musik in 2008, Jason once again sets his mind to spin, this time towards the future, and out comes electronic music full of human presence. Or as Jason Fine puts it: “I am constantly thinking about the future, future of technology, humanity and the earth. So this series of tracks is an auditory representation of my future thought.”

Amplitude modulation gives you an energetic techno track without losing in melody and funk. Broken home is warm electro brings thought to Claro Intelecto masterpiece Peace of Mind. But Future Thought also contains several deeper house excursions. Take the track Cream, so unique, so heavy and so warm at the same time. Not to mention Butterscotch – spacey and floa...

  • Our Music is a Secret Order. But we are not rich powerful men in suits planning how to get even richer. Nor are we dressing in capes performing occult or religious sermonize. We are no elite trying to separate ourselves from others. No, we are ordinary down to earth people. What unites us is that we live and breathe music. It is our passion and our drive. And it has been like that since we discovered that music must be an expression of the human soul. Or as Jason Fine puts it: “In my opinion, making deep music is not possible without a strong internal connection between the user and their feelings. Ultimately the end product is a reflection of what the user was feeling while making the piece. I think it's important to listen to your creative flow and respect it -- I don't try to make music when I’m not feeling it, because guaranteed the result will be bad. It all boils down to what I’m feeling at that particular moment in time when I create a piece.”

With these words we welcome you to the first full length album release on the Kontra-Musik imprint - “Our Music is a Secret Order” (Louis Armstrong, 1954). Producer is greatly talented newcomer Jason Fine, who released his superb debut EP on Omar-S´ FXHE label last year. The twelve pieces of minimal Detroit sounds you are about to hear, were sent to us as one package. We were blown away and there was nothing else to do but surrender to its quality and sign them all. Now join us…
