  • Lonehill Estate, four piece band from Johannesburg, are one of Southern Africa’s top performing artists. They have coined the term neon-rock to best describe their style. EP Phone Home is Lonehill Estate’s third official release and contains their number 1 hit singles Gangstar, Technoband and Daans! The EP also features the band’s eco friendly chart topper The Green Pocket, a face melting dub-step version of Daans! and the brand spanking new offering from the neon rockers called ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE FACE. An absolute must for Lonehill Estate fans and party rockers all over the world.

A cheeky blend of electro-pop and rock, their current material has evolved from their previous more acoustic guitar-driven sound. The band have been together since 2005 and have seen a few member changes over the years. Their current line-up is tighter than ever with original members Nathan Ro (lead vox, guitar) and Dave Waugh (guitar) being joined by Mark Van Den Berg (bass) and Herman Roslee (drums). Their songs Gangstar, Green Pocket and Techno band all achieved chart success but it was their most recent hit Daans! that claimed the number one spot on South Africa’s national Top 40 station, 5fm. This digital EP precedes their anticipated third full album, which will be released in March 2012.

  • Lonehill Estate is one of the top live performing bands in South Africa. with their mischievous rock sound poking fun at politics and the music industry, their shows are riddled with offensive anecdotes and eye-twitchingly good music. The band burst onto radio in 2005 with hit singles "Girl on a Roof" and "Skyward" dominating. In 2007 the band represented South Africa in London at the Global Battle of the Bands where their drummer at the time (Travis Marc) took home the award for best drummer. In 2008 Lonehill Estate released their second studio album "Hong Kong Dollar" which featured the hit "Memories." The song was originally written for a movie entitled "My Facebook Reunion" which unfortunately was never made. The band did however get to perform alongside Muse, Korn, Good Charlotte and 30 Seconds to Mars at the 2008 MyCokeFest that same year. In 2009 Lonehill Estate's ballad "Forty" was used in the comedy "Finding Lenny" starring Barry Hilton. Lonehill has received much criticism for their music being too eclectic in the past and the band has decided to funnel their influences into genres that are sure to please. Keep your ears peeled for the release of their new single...

  • The mischievous rock act initially could not find representation on the grounds that they were ‘ too diverse’ and were told that ‘music, like ice cream comes in many flavours but that doesn’t mean we can place all the flavours in one tub’.
Lonehill Estate shrugged off this ignorant comparison and continued to compose their ‘special blend’ of music.

Nathan Ro, a born performer, has lived a very public life.. Nathan Ro- the artist formerly known as Jonathan Ross quite literally lived on television for two months during the reality TV show ‘Project Fame Africa’ where he won the hearts of viewers all over Africa. Following which he landed a role on South Africa’s most loved TV show ‘Isidingo’. But the passionate lead singer of Lonehill Estate feared the comfort of TV and left the show after two years. It was his dream to walk the length of Africa in a way was a dream granted by the fact he has appeared in the living rooms of over 83 Million Africans through television. Jonathan Ross later shook off the reality show stigma, and Nathan Ro stepped in.

A few line up changes, a couple of band marriages and some children have seen an evolution of the band personally and musically. Since their formation, they have released two albums, “Take It All” and “Hong Kong Dollar”; they have performed alongside their own personal idols, MUSE, at the 2008 My Coke Fest, and they are currently achieving great radio success with their single, Gangstar!
