  • Lou Rhodes is an acclaimed singer songwriter whose career started as a member of trip-hop architects Lamb. With her solo debut album, Beloved One, she took a step back from the electronic intricacies of Lamb and embraced a folk music aesthetic that provided an intimate, unvarnished forum for her voice. It was nominated for the UK’s prestigious Mercury Music Prize.

Bloom is her second solo album and illuminates her creative growth as she adds to her palate a rich collection of finely tuned acoustic guitars and lavish percussion with flowing double-bass work, exquisite string arrangements and other hand-played instruments that expand the depth of her songwriting. Bloom is an emotionally honest album permeated by juxtaposition such as light and dark, love and loss. Through her beautiful songs Lou invites the listener to share in the emotions we all endure and relish at some point in life.

  • Beautifully honest vocals, commanding big room drums and delicately tuned guitars all contribute to “The Rain,” a stand out track taken from Lou Rhodes’ highly praised second album Bloom.
