"Beast One / Man Nil" is Menfolks long awaited sequel to the massive debut, "Colossus". Five years have passed and we haven´t seen or heard much from these guys. But Menfolk has never been a band that let demand dictate the output: Records are released when they are ready, and concerts are played when the right time comes. This attitude can be heard on Menfolks new album. This band is not sucking up to anyone. This is not radio friendly rock, not young fashion punk, not cool laid back rock or the soundtrack to a rebellious generation. The four strange fellows in Menfolk drag the listener around by their ears on the 10 tracks of the album by means of guitar feedback, twisted drum beats and fierce texts about life and death.

Menfolk’s long-awaited first full-length, with the substantial and quite expressive title ‘Colossus’, is jam packed with shrieking guitars, rhythms gone AWOL and a raw energy that seems simultaneously huddled up and ready to explode. An anarchic take on a rock sound freed of its restraints and confinements.
In April 2005 Menfolk took refuge in a remotely situated house to record "Colossus". With a gargantuan power plant on one side of the impromptu recording studio and scenic pastures to the other, the setting instantly caused the energy and inspiration to bloom.
With ‘Colossus’, Menfolk have succeeded in capturing all the noise, energy, anger and intensity on a record, which is now ready to take in its place as a fierce pig on the contemporary rock scene.

Are We Enemies is the first release by Menfolk since the explosive Double Date 7" back in 2001. The four songs presented by Menfolk on this split collaboration with fellow label mates Barra Head were recorded during 2002 and 2003 and were originally recorded as part of a full length release by the band. Shortly after the recordings the bass player Jacob Læby decided to leave the band and the recordings were put on a permanent hold. During 2004 people outside the band pushed for the release of these ´forgotten´ tracks which thankfully have led to this record. But this is by no means a trip down memory lane! Are We Enemies nicely captures the progress this unique four piece has made since their first release in 2001. Menfolk deliver four massive blows to the gut with their signature feeding guitars, ever changing rhythm patterns and pounding basses. Once again Menfolk produces an intense amount of noise that will leave the listener breathless.
