  • Money Joe
A rockgroup with a short story
    but a long experience
In the late summer of 2003 the rockgroup
Money Joe was formed in Varberg, Sweden.
Nisse Berglund and Måns Eriksson knew
each other from earlier constallations in
Stockholm. Jonas Svensson and Nisse had
been writing songs together for a couple
of years. Måns joined when he moved
from Stockholm to Varberg and after a few
months the trio recorded their first songs in
    Måns studio, Mo studios.
    Like another famous Swedish pop-group,
Abba, the guys used the first two letters in
their names when they named the group:
Måns (Mo), Nisse (Ni) and Jonas (Jo); Money
Joe. And that is also the name of the debut
    album.
Three leadsingers and three songwriters with
different influences and experience will serve
a good mix of music on your disc this spring,
    2008.

It's the Beatles, innit? Not a good thing round my way, where the Prefab Four remain a subject of scorn. But, utilising the 10 million flies can't be wrong, I did my best to give this a fair shout...
And the album is enjoyable... Nisse has a mighty fine voice, as befits a man who sang back up with Wilson Pickett and performed with Steve Marriott, and the sixties influenced songs are very easy on the ear. The experienced band are all excellent musicians and know their way round the studio, so everything sounds as professional as you would expect.
