  • "Brute Noir" is the second album from Sweden's best rhythm & blues, blues and pop act Mother James.

With the irresistible mix of swinging blues stomp and 60s pop refrains Mother James entered the stages in Stockholm, Sweden during 2005, and was immediately appreciated as a fabulous live act and a welcomed contrast to all the boring crying-in-your-beer singer/songwriters.

Mother James was formed by songwriter Stefan Petersson and the name of the project was taken from legendary soul and jazz vocalist Etta James, who serves as an inspirational muse for the act.

The first album "Stomping Grounds" got rave reviews everywhere and was releasedin the US by Zip Records.
