  • In the year 2000 the three musicians RAFA (Rafael Perren), RUDI (Rudolf Graepel) and ROE (René Renggli) got together for the first time. All three of them had their origins in different musical styles (Pop / Classic, resp., Funk / Rock, resp., Heavy / Jazz). After only a short time together it became obvious that the various influences should be preserved and blended into something on its own. The result should be suitable for public broadcast and catchy at the same time, focussed on the sound as a unit rather than on the different members of the group. The project “Short Leave” was born. Another goal was to have the entire production process in the hands of the band. Apart from the mastering (Studio Ton-Art Basel) they went ahead with this plan. The price for this was a few years more work (and additional training) until the final record was complete.
The result is nothing to sneeze at: Powerful alternative-pop with up-to-date production quality.
