  • Dirty Rabbit was the second single from the Sweatmaster album Tom Tom Bullet. A simple and catchy mid-tempo song about rabbits and a life lived in a hat. Dirty Rabbit is backed by the non-album track Steamboat. Here at the Bad Afro manor we voted for Steamboat to be included on Tom Tom Bullet but it was left out in the last minute. A mistake by any means...just listen to that bell!!

  • The second Sweatmaster album on Bad Afro album is entitled TOM TOM BULLET and was released in 2004. Once again Jürgen Hendlemeier (The Flaming Sideburns, Baby Woodrose, Thee Ultra Bimboos etc. etc.) mixed the whole she-bang and the result is even stronger than the debut.

Although the trademark Sweatmaster sound is still very much present one can expect a slight expansion of their explosive boogaloo. Songs like LAST REQUEST and THE KID showcase a whole new side of Sweatmaster that leaves even more space for singer Sasu Mykkanen’s soulful hollering. But as always there is room for quirky details and lurking insanity.

MAGGOTS was the first single outtake from TOM TOM BULLET and was a good example of Sweatmasters less-is-more approach where everything is tight, sharp and staccato-like and at the same time very groovy. The CD version includes the award winning video for SONG WITH NO WORDS made by Kalle Kotila and Malakias Tomi. Originally released on LP and CD.

  • MAGGOTS was the first single outtake from the second Sweatmaster album TOM TOM BULLET and was a good example of Sweatmasters less-is-more approach where everything is tight, sharp and staccato-like and at the same time groovy and soulful. MAGGOTS is backed on this single by the exclusive song FOOL. Originally released 31/01/05 on CD single.

  • When Sweatmasters debut album SHARP CUT was released in 2002 it was received with raving reviews in the press like The Times, NME, Kerrang, Rocksound, Q etc etc. Since then they have been touring with The Darkness and Baby Woodrose and visited Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Germany and the UK. On their home turf in Finland they were voted Newcomer of the Year the same year in the big music papers. After a short hiatus there is finally news from this fab trio from Turku is shape of this EP.

Odd as it may seem, there's a big interest in tango in Finland and somehow that must have rubbed off on Sweatmaster and the title track SONG WITH NO WORDS. But in that case it's their own definition of tango we are talking about here and it's of cource spiced up with the usual bare-boned staccato rock'n'roll that is the trademark of Sweatmaster. Quirky and accessible at the same time which is also the case with the second new track DIRTY LITTLE THINGS that showcases how groovy minimalistic rock can be.

The rest of the EP consists of six carefully chosen cover songs that gives a hint to Sweatmasters influences as musicians. The Wipers, The Modern Lovers, Music Machine, Misfits, Minor Threat and Money Mark all get the Sweatmaster treatment. In all 8 short bursts of rock in less than 17 minutes! Originally released as CD and 12" vinyl.

  • This rocking and original trio was like a storm of fresh air on the Scandinavian rock scene when Sharp Cut was released in 2001. The music is delivered with guts and cunning twists and turns that separate them from the rest and there is room for a sense of humour in the lyrics too. As the band describes themselves: Sweatmaster is a triangle of hot rhythms trembling hard for the love of rock'n'roll.

"Sharp Cut" is Sweatmasters debut album and it was recorded at Redhouse in their hometown Turku and mastered by Jürgen Hendlmeier (The Flaming Sideburns, Thee Ultra Bimboos, Baby Woodrose and many others) at Kick Out The Jams in Helsinki. 12 blistering tracks in less than a half hour is all these newcomers need to overshadow the current "rock" scene.

"Sharp Cut" was also released in the UK on Must Destroy and the first single "I Am A Demon and I Love Rock'n'roll" was played often on BB1 and was also "Single of the Week" on XFM (the leading alternative radio in London). Rave reviews followed in NME, Rock Sounds, The Times, Kerrang etc. etc. Originally released on both CD and LP.

  • Second single from the Sweatmaster album Sharp Cut. Well Connected is a twisted rocker with a refreshing song structure backed with the non-album track Lose A Day. Originally released on 7” vinyl.
