    The Average Swede


    Swedish West coast rockers The Average Swede now release their debut album. The two
    original members of the band, Mike Johansson (vocals) and Toby Andreasson (guitars), have
    for a few years been composing and recording various kinds of songs together with the
    Gothenburg-based producer Andy Oh My God. Their cooperation has led to a number of
    songs played on different radio stations. In 2008 the present crew of The Average Swede was
    set, as Viktor Jensen (guitars), Roger Smith (bass), and Tony “Tonkman” Krankkala (drums)
    became solid members of the band. The album contains 12 rock songs, all of which reveal the
    influences of the songwriters (Slade, U2, Green Day, Mötley Crüe). Several of The Average
    Swede's songs have been played on radio stations in Sweden and in the UK. On Boxing-Day
    2008, The Average Swede was played as one of the most exciting new releases on the radio
    station Starship Overflow. On the show were also songs by AC/DC and Nick Cave. The
    Average Swede now looks forward to meeting their audience on many concerts during 2009.
