  • The Sweptaways are thirty women in coordinated costumes who sing choir-arranged a cappella
versions of pop tunes. Last year they released their debut album Ooh Aah and the EP Cry Cry
Christmas. Now it’s time for this year’s Christmas EP – A Christmas Party with The Sweptaways
    & friends!
Just like The Muppet Show, The Sweptaways are sometimes honored by visits from celebrity
guests. And among the Christmas-stars Magnus Carlson, singer of Weeping Willows, and the
fourteen member-strong band The Gray Brigade, you can this year also see the glitter of the
    choir-ladies darling Marit Bergman.
The title track is a Christmas cracker pop symphony composed by Sophie Eklöf and performed a
cappella by Marit Bergman and The Sweptaways. The second track is a cover of The Concretes
winterly Lady December, performed a cappella by The Sweptaways.
The EP also includes the songs Cry Cry Christmas and Silver Bells, both performed by The
Sweptaways, Magnus Carlson and The Gray Brigade.

"My friend Åsa Jacobsson, who plays keyboard with me now and then, once wrote the top 3
list of her life, and it looked like this: 1. Animals. 2. Christmas. 3. Music.
Mine is quite similar: 1. Choir singing. 2. Christmas. 3. Don’t know.
Now you see why it was impossible for me to refuse the offer of recording a Christmas song
with The Sweptaways. Hope you like it.”
    - Marit Bergman

  • The lovely Magnus Carlson from Weeping Willows sings the lead song at this fab christmas hit with The Sweptaways. Also featuring is The Grey Brigade that plays all the bombastic instruments.
Best christmas song this year! and next... and next... Merry christmas from Hybris!

  • The Sweptaways sing choir-arranged a cappella-versions of songs performed by artists such as Lesley
Gore, Jenny Wilson, Black Sabbath, Vapnet, Kiss, El perro del mar, Pet Shop Boys, Monica Törnell,
    Kate Bush och Embassy.
The Sweptaways are thirty women dressed up in color-coordinated, thematic or simply stunning costumes,
plus an equally stunning choir-mistress who writes the arrangements and directs.
Their name was stolen from a less than acceptable Madonna-movie, and since the fi rst rehearsal in a
shabby Volvo they’ve outgrown both one thing and the other: now they release their debut album Ooh aah
on the only record label with a name worthy of their recorded presence.
The songs on the album are ten choir-democratically elected favorites, and the title is inspired by the fact
that it is deemed unsuitable to mix “ooh” and “aah” in the same song – even though it sounds so nice.
