  • Directly after their blow-away Roskilde appearance The Unit disappeared into the quiet Swedish woods to record their forthcoming album ‘Gunpoint’. This album takes the band someplace new and exciting while keeping in touch with the roots they evolved from. ‘Gunpoint’ is, in lead singer Løppenthin’s words from the album title track:

”Atomic Fueled, Alien Operated and Dangerous like 50 jealous boyfriends”.

The lyrics are filled to brim with themes like distrust, jealousy, shame, adultery and apocalyptic visions of a world gone mad. This is the sound of a band cornered against the world. It’s also about love. It’s also funny as hell. Cut down to the bone this is Loud Black Hearted Soul Music for the 21st Century

  • Play/Rec´s very own henchmen of black-hearted rock ´n´ roll are presentig nine tracks totalling little less than half an hour of intense, raw and unpolished rock. This album marks an emancipation from the strict dogmas of the garage-rock label which was formerly imposed on The Unit and establish them, once and for all, as something much grander and much more versatile than your everyday garage band. The album´s major asset is that - in the midst of the dark-hearted atmosphere - a frailty seems to reside, which makes the music burn a mark in the conscience of the minds of the listeners.
