Tobias recorded these tracks during a tough time in his life while going through a spiritual emergency, with overwhelming feelings of sadness and frustration. Crying out his sorrow through the melodies, releasing energy through the drums and keeping the bassy foundation. 'illegal Stockholm' was the name of a Stockholm based record shop, established 1999 and run by Tobias von Hofsten and Pär Grindvik. After a few years Tobias wanted to have an outlet for his music and started a record label with the same name. Evolution was the reflections of that time, a time of personal changes for Tobias. The music, always shuffled, always raw and with more focus on feeling than production, is a subtle story of personal reflection. Beautiful artwork by Håkan Ullberg of Love Industries giving the titles a deeper meaning, fusing love for nature with love for machines. Evolution.
