As one part of revered dark ambient project Yen Pox, Michael JV Hensley is certainly no stranger to creating epic and immersive soundscapes, and with Funeral In An Empty Room, he has yet again
meticulously crafted another highly detailed, intensely atmospheric work. Awash in slow, dreamlike waves of morphing textures, and blissfully unfurling cosmic drift, this is nothing less than an aural vision down the hypnotic path to the unknown; serene yet gloomy, with multiple layers of swelling tones, subdued melodies, and ominous, spacey effects.

The new album of CIRCULAR is following the debut CD from 2006 and a split LP with INADE. With this work Johannes Riedel makes another step further by creating something with a resounding sense of emotion and wistful melancholia.
His classicial education in music allowed him to generate an artificial and ambient soundtrack with well composed songlike structures. There is a truly organic, analog-based core sound with cyclical waves of thick synthesizer drones and modulated bass guitars while slowly oscillating effects and pulsing beats are drifting through the mix. CYCLES OF REMEMBRANCE is an album full of harmonic landscapes, always enveloping and with meditative qualities.

Shuchu Ryoku means the focused power and the wall of sound here is underlayed by hypnotical ambient-noise layers which stands for a well known trade mark of Ex.Order. A throbbing audio force built up by massive analogue soundwaves, heavily driven mechanical percussion, sample-collages and vocals. This is another complex and explosive industrial tapestry of sound, performed with control and brutality.

For several years Ingo Sauerbrey made extensive travels through Indonesia, always carrying recording equipment to collect sounds as an audio diary. During periodic return trips to Germany, he started to work on the recordings with electronic devices. Some sounds were edited, cut and transformed, while others were kept completely intact. To name a few sound sources only recordings from Water Puppet and Shadow Theatres, Gamelan and various welcoming and fighting dances like Kecak, Jegog and the Tarian Caci were used for this album. Some of those impressive performances were made of 60 to 90 men chanting and dancing while a bamboo orchestra used 4 meter long bamboo sticks playing bass drums on it. SAMA SADJA is waving together the sounds of living traditions, religions and languages with spherical ambient pads and electronically edited
drones from the field recordings. This is an contemplative and intimate soundtrack from the deepest heart of South East Asia.

The new album of FJERNLYS contains ten great and endless epic tracks to reach far beyond trepidation and tranquillity, it's not only welcoming with open arms but captivating slowly the listener and remainig breathless till the last sound. "Beyond The Undulant Quiescence" unifies the opposites when the frostiness of the synthesizer sound and the warmth of the melodies are melting one another. The spectrum ranges from melancholic piano compositions to complex and superior songstructures with an open commitment to slow motion. In every track there is this cryptical sparkling which is always shimmering but it almost stays in the background.
It's the multilayered arrangement in all tracks which is constantly changing the colours and features an cineastic coarseness in an audible way.
