    Cripta Oculta stands as one of the best kept secrets in the portuguese scene. Gathered in 2004, they released a couple of demos quickly becoming one of the most respected bands from the new wave of Portuguese Black Metal (along with Inverno Eterno, Tumulum, Dolentia, Nortada Gelada, Defuntos, and Satanize) . They play a special sort of obscure pagan Black Metal, honouring their Lusitanian roots and the Lusitanian land, incorporating in their sound diverse influences such as Varathron, Osculum Infame, Kristallnacht, Blessed in Sin, Absurd, Temnozor, Nargaroth and Moonblood... but more than a copy they are able to make an unique mix of all the influences and make their own sound .
