  • After 5 years, 20 releases and countless live shows all around the world, we thought it's time for a special label project, and asked a whole bunch of artists to have a take on the mitek catalogue.

Also during the years we've made many many friends all over so why not invite some of them and get a more "international" touch .. so we did and what we got is stunning - what we got is 27 artists and 28 tracks, ranging from minimal sound-scapes via electronica to club appealing tracks, most of them reworking the mitek catalogue, taking snippets here and there, creating something unique, a new and fresh take on the older material .. Like Son of Clay creating a low-key and beautiful piece out of Mikael Stavöstrand's "Lite", Jeff Milligan with his minimal and fluffy rework on of Son of Clay, Folie with his own special touch, taking every 4th bar out of "XX" you have a guess which one .. Midaircondo with a stunning take on Sophie Rimheden and so on..

Each track with a different approach in its style and method, a really good overview of what is going on at the moment, with artists from Sweden, Norway, Iceland, England, Denmark, Germany, England, Mexico, Canada and the US.

  • Håkan Lidbo returns to Mitek with a foretaste of his new album coming in 2006.
"Baby, let me be the pig tonight": the title describes it well, here we have music to be played very late in the early morning. These are by far the most powerful, funky and inspired club tracks we have heard from Håkan in a long time -- we just had to get them out on vinyl. This EP forms a convincing counterpart to his earlier mitek release "06.10.60" , which was more like music for the living room (or bedroom) DJ, minimal and crisp, with layers of tiny sounds and glitches atop each other ... This is the next step: just as rich in detail, just as virtuously arranged -- but aiming directly for the dancefloor this time.

  • Eyepennies

    MITEK22

    Artist: Folie

    Label: Mitek

"Eyepennies is the long anticipated second album after Folie's 2002 debut Misspass, which got overwhelming response from international press (rated no 2 album of 2002 by german mag. De:Bug). A long wait indeed, but his new album will leave no one disappointed, and for sure build on his reputation as one of the most talented artists from Scandinavia. Folie delivers 12 stunning tracks of swirling electronica with undeniable pop appeal. His slightly surreal constructions of melancholic melodies, funky little beats and laid-back harmonies create a flow for easy afternoons as well as intense club nights

  • Two Abstract Paintings is the third full-length album by Son Of Clay (Andreas Bertilsson). The album consists of a 46 minute piece divided into two parts. The piece is a poetic soundscape, carefully constructed of microscopic pieces, made up almost entirely of the recorded sounds of things like dry leaves, bits of wood, paper and dust -- things that can hardly even be called things, mere particles of matter, most of them on the verge of falling apart. Bertilsson turns matter into material, treating each of his recordings with utmost care and minutely crafting them into a vibrant mesh, a still life that is by no means still, an anthology of very small things that is alive with crackling, sparkling, shimmering beauty.

  • Volume

    MITEK19

    Artist: Johan Skugge

    Label: Mitek

"Volume" is the long awaited second release of Johan Skugge under his own name. The album moves in the borderlands of tech-house and flirts with disco sounds, resulting in an astonishing, well produced, and coherent album, full of curious turns and unexpected creative elements. "Volume" connects to classic genre experiments such as Thomas Brinkmann's "Soul Center" and Vladislav Delay's "Luomo". Yet, with its healthy unfaithfulness towards traditional club music, "Volume" produces its own original sound. This lack of restraints and respect is utterly sustained by Laura's peculiar and beautiful voice.

  • This EP moves in the borderlands of tech-house and disco, full of curious turns and unexpected, creative elements. The Ep contains two funky tracks by Johan Skugge (taken from "Volume" album), featuring the sweet and peculiar voice of Laura Delicata. As well as a minimal techno mix of "Decadence" by Stewart Walker (Persona, m_nus, Tresor, Force Inc.), followed by Mikael Stavöstrand's "Boring Men" Remix, which takes a funky and minimal shot at "Bring Me On".
