  • This is the bridge between the former David & the Citizens and the David & the Citizens to come. "Big Chill" is a walrus, gasping for air, then suddenly out in the water, lithe and smooth. It is a duet with one of Sweden's most respected musicians - Mattias Alkberg of "Mattias Alkberg BD" and "The Bear Quartet". Together with David they create something that is both beautiful, punk, intense and dejected. The other 3 tracks was all considered to be singles from the "Until the Sadness is Gone"- album, but in the end they formed a better EP than being on the album. That's how strong they are. "Let's not Fall Apart" is here in the acid bath version. Stripped down to the bones.

  • The third and last single from the "Until the sadness is Gone" album was only released on 7" Vinyl. The second hit song from the album. A trumpet riff that makes you dance and a lyric that makes you mourn. This is the single version. It differs slightly from the album version. The B side is the perfect Christmas song for all unhappy Christmas souls. A song to good to be hidden as a B-side.

  • The End is one of two big hits from the second album from David & the Citizens. A strange song combining an 80's low budget drum machine and a full Klezmer band. (Klezmer is traditional Jewish folk music, here represented by the band Tummel.) About the track; David says: "Love that never dies and all thoughts racing through your head. A clear memory of someone crying in the cellar." This is the single version. It differs slightly from the album version. If anyone figures out how we will send you the entire Adrian Recordings back catalogue. Mail us your answers on info@adrianrecordings.com. First right guess wins. The B-side "Ain't No Good News" is only found here on this sold out single. One of the saddest songs coming from David's pen. Once played on the day of ones death.

  • The powerful second album from David & the Citizens. Put together to win on knock out. Energetic, eager and on-toe-standing. This was the album that got the band out of Scandinavia for real. Now released in most parts of the world and it took the band with it, on tour everywhere. An album just as right on the party as mourning to. An album to get in the mood to, and an album for reflection.

  • "New Direction" was the first song in the second chapter of David & the Citizens. The EP preceded the second album to come. A classic David & the Citizens EP with 4 diverse songs, all representing different sides of the band. This EP is, I have been told, David's favourite EP of all the EP's released by the band. It is monumental and solid. Made to flow over you and to be played loud.

  • A web release only. Stop! made it to the playlists all over and is the most Twee-pop song ever released by David & the Citizens. Stop! is a pop song about wondering Why? It includes school organ, talk in Swedish, horse trumpet and playing on bathtub. It was recorded in the legendary Tambourine studios, Malmö.

  • The live song of the band. No concert without a horde of people crying for "Song Against Live". An anthem of despair and a truly magnificent pop song with edge and power. Curiosa: The American band "Plastic Mastery" has made an excellent cover of "Song against life". You can buy their version on the "Sverige EP" in Adrian Recordings webshop. The EP also contains two songs live recorded in a studio on a quick stop from the bands first tour. Exciting, is the word. And one acoustic angry piece named "You're an Angel.

  • The classic David & the Citizens album. So fresh after all these years. Cut in only 10 days, mixed and everything. The sound is built on a sing/songwriter feel, with added toy instruments, brass, mouth-organ and rattle, to create songs that veer between melancholy and exhilarated delight, waltz, dixieland jazz and tango. It's probably best not to make any categorizations at all. You find it all there. Voted best album of the year by numerous at the end of 2002.

  • The appetizer for the first David & the Citizens album was a luscious pop song. Comparisons have been done to bands like Pulp, Blur and E.L.O. The B-side is a sweet acoustic heartaching story in the tradition of the late, great Elliott Smith. A song definitely worth more listeners. Only released on this single.

  • Another classic EP from David & the Citizens. The title track "I've Been Floating Upstream Since We Parted" is one of the most popular songs from the band. This is from the piano-pop era, and this song represents that very well. Gustaf Kjellvander, now the leader of the band "The Fine Arts Showcase" plays saw on the track "Made of Words". The track "Your Cool Entrance" was once voted the best Twee-pop song ever. It might not be Twee though, but it is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded by the band. Still a live favourite.

  • This was David & The Citizens first release ever. The EP is for a long time sold out and it has become a collector's item and a cult release. The four songs represent very well the defragmentated sound landscape of David & The Citizens. They here also introduce a lyrical theme that has followed the band all through their career so far - the EP was almost called "The Family - EP" but then it stayed untitled.
