Ahma is a Helsinki, Finland based quartet playing simple and loud rock music. In 2007, after a decade of on/off activity behind in various forms, including several promos and odd compilation tracks, the current formation freed itself from true or imagined genre boundaries and released an EP that proved how questionable attitude mixed with mangled sound bites from modern philosophers and dead dictators (and vice versa) can drive a psychosurreal asphalt truck off the cliff as well as attain laudable reviews.
Fast forward to the year of the lord 2011 when the gentleman orchestra had finally prepared and kneaded in its deep unconsciousness a full length release's worth of so called dark matter (lat. atrum res). Once again, the weight of history had not been forgotten and, true to themselves, the posse's very slowly and even more uncertainly executed ideas were fed through a tried and tested cowgirl filter by the use of dilapidated chaos magic and most inexact scientific methods. The result can now be confirmed to be exactly what was sought after: dirty and distorted coupled with larger than life choruses - not forgetting the exuberant postpubertal defiance of this fifteen years old cohort. Thematically the release, Crooked Issue, sails in the wake of paranoia, dualistic materialism and intense mustache growing.
