Green Pitch pitches into 2011 with an explosion of an ep.
The five songs on ”Asleep” once again prove Green Pitch’s ability to uncover melancholia in amazingly beautiful singer/songwriter inspired pop melodies.
”Asleep” is the first of 3 ep’s that Green Pitch will release this year. The next ep ”Awake” will already be hitting the streets in late may, and the third and final ep is coming out this fall.
Since the critically acclaimed album ”La Jolla” was released in 2009, Green Pitch has gone through great change. From being a duo consisting of the couple Ste & Rex Garfield, Green Pitch has now become a complete band with 4 members.
The guitarplayer and multi-instrumentalist Reno Rasmussen and the cello player Ronni Bjørnum Bengtsson have been invited to join in, and they now take part in giving Green Pitch a much more full expression, especially when the band is playing live.
On ”Asleep” one can easily sense that the band has become more united than earlier, but the songs are just as beautiful and longing, dreamy and sad as always.
The touring the band has done in Germany and Schwitzerland since ”La Jolla” hit the streets, has strengthened them and given them a joy of playing that is contagious and that involves the listener.
”Asleep” is without a doubt Green Pitch’s strongest release to date, and a brilliant beginning of the trilogy.

The sound of longing. Long shadows and cool winter wind in Gartnergade, Copenhagen.
Sunbleached campus, sealions and the pacific ocean in La Jolla

Listen to it, and let it unfold in its magnificent, kalejdoscopic, slowmotion beauty.
La Jolla is recorded by Ste Rasch who has captured his and his wife Rex Garfields soulful playing in the apartments in Gartnergade, Copenhagen and California with much care. The finished recordings were sent to Cambridge Massachusett, where the
master of production Paul Q. Kolderie (Radiohead, The Cure, Pixies) cooperating with the musician Chris Brokoaw (Codein, Thurston Moore, The New Year) mixed them in the most beautiful way.
Besides Rex and Ste there is a number of musical friends appearing on the album. The sound is more electric and more experiemental compared to what Green Pitch has presented before. The instrumentation is rich and varied, and the music is hard to pin down.
Green Pitch got an international career after the debut album ”Ace of Hearts” was released on the small label Good guy’s recording company in April 2005.
In 2007 the album was released in the Us by Funzalo Record and in England and the rest of the world by Rykodisc. It received amazing reviews all over the world and PonyRec i...
