»Good For You: The Best Of Annika Fehling - international edition« is an eagerly awaited album for those who discovered Sweden's Annika Fehling from her recent duet album »Visby, Texas« with Nashville's Dana Cooper. Or on one of her many tours in Europe or US . Only to find that most of her earlier album are deleted or very hard to find.
This is an international version of a Swedish compilation CD, released two years ago. All songs have English lyrics and this new edition have two brand new songs produced by Tobias Fröberg. The Townes van Zandt cover »Lungs« has a nordic, almost medieval touch. The second new song is »Muddy Heart«, written by Annika Fehling herself.
The new version of the album also includes a remix of the title track »Good For You«, made by Moe of Breakmecanix (the production team behind the highly successful Swedish hip hop act Timbuktu).
Annika Fehling is a hardworking woman. She tours a lot; she runs a singer/songwriter club back home in the medieval town of Visby on the beautiful island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea, arranges songwriter retreats. And she's writing songs more or less all the time, on her own or co-writes with collegues from all over the world.
Already her first single »Oktoberbarn (October Child)« (1993) made it perfectly clear that Annika was an extraordinary talent, and the single made it to the Swedish Top Ten. Many would see an instant success like that as a sign that you found the right musical path and continue on the same path. But not Annka. Over the years she's constantly been challenging herself.
She' been singing jazz, pop, rock and folk. And she's been cooperating with several domestic and international singer/songwriters. And for every gig, tour, co-write, recording, Annika has developed. As singer, songwriter and performer. And human being.»Good For You: The Best Of Annika Fehling - international edition« is an eagerly awaited album for those who discovered Sweden's Annika Fehling from her recent duet album »Visby, Texas« with Nashville's Dana Cooper. Annika creates here, together with producer Lasse Englund, an exciting, bordercrossing painting of sound. Listen to the catchy poptrack »Megaphone«(released as a single), the beautiful »Love«, suggestive »Trailfinder« to name just a few of the records eleven tracks. Still another track - »Already Home« - has been released as a radiosingle, co-written with Irish singer/songwriter John Hurley. The Irish input is big. »Love« is co-written together with Phil Donnelly and the titletrack is co-written with Celine Carroll. The last track - »Magic Touch« - is co-written with Theresa Andersson.
