Texum originates from the rural town of Oppdal, situated in sparsely populated country in the middle of Norway. Building their music on the American singer-songwriter tradition they draw inspiration from the No Depression-generation of new country musicians as well as from contemporary rock, vintage soul, blues and country music.
Since their first show six years ago the band has played more than 70 gigs, and with their soulful and distinct Americana blend, Texum have earned themselves a reputation for intense and hearty live performances.
»Different Strokes for Different Folks« was produced and recorded by the band themselve, assisted in part by rising-star producer Pål Brekkås. The record was mixed by Chris Shepard (Wilco, Elvis Costello, Smashing Pumpkins), and mastered by Danny Leake (Stevie Wonder, Tom Waits).Texum originates from the rural town of Oppdal, situated in sparsely populated country in the middle of Norway.
