When Gustaf Kjellvander told us he was going to make a cover album, entirely based on songs from the Swedish, rather unknown, lo-fi band The Rough Bunnies, we where of course delighted. These are exactly these kinds of projects that we love here at Adrian Recordings. First, what you hear have to be to notch, but that goes without saying, secondly, it doesn’t hurt if the release has this little twist and story to it. If you look carefully into every release we have done, you shall find that there is often something more to it. And this time we are so glad that Gustaf is doing it for us.
This is the first single from the album “The Fine Arts Showcase Sings The Rough Bunnies”. Gustaf and his friends don’t denies the instant, frail lo-fi character of the original, but they twist it around, slows it down and really nourish the beauty of the song.
The extra, on top of it all, twist to the album is that it is mastered by the legendary Mr Norman Blake.
Now you really have something to look forward to.
