Igor Bardo is a Russian musician and sound artist. He is best known as the mastermind of Bardoseneticcube, which is one of the leading experimental/post-industrial groups from Russia. He describes his music as Surrealism:
"Pure psychic automatism by which it is intended to express, either verbally or in writing, the true function of thought. Thought dictated in the absence of all control exerted by reason, and outside all aesthetic or moral preoccupations." (André Breton)
"My Sweet Nightmare" is Igor Bardo's debut solo album containing about one hour of first class psychedelic electronic listening music. The surrealist soundscapes will be instantly embraced by fans of Bardoseneticcube, yet the artist manages to conquer heaps of new ground at the same time. Free from the burden of expectation related to the fame of his main band, "My Sweet Nightmare" has mr. Bardo take us on an adventurous journey deep down into the rabbit hole. Themes such as religion, psychedelia, sleep paralysis etc. are explored with eerie atmospheres, bliss-inducing frequencies and cutting edge studio experiments.

Two radical new mixes presenting different aspects of the key track from the highly acclaimed "Half Born in Half Light" album. "7" shoplifters mix" strips away some of the drones to give emphasis to the complex tribal rhythms, also revealing the vibrant bassline. "Karni Mata Dub" shows the original tune completely taken to pieces and rebuilt as an all new track ruled by wild synths and hectic syncopated beats. The EP is completed with the epic 10-minute album version of "NeitherSphere".
"The EP opens with the 7" Shoplifters Mix by Niko himself that makes for an even more dancable and dancefloor-friendly piece of music. Don't get me wrong, it would still be out of the ordinary in most clubs, but as far as Some Place Else goes, this is very accessible. Karni Mata gives us a dub remix that sits somewhere between the original and the first mix and is a nice interpretation of the original. Last up is the ten minute original. It's a small, but excellent EP of about twenty minutes that is suitable for those who are unfamiliar with the label and are curious, or for those who find Niko's regular sound a bit hard to digest." “Usein alkuperäinen on alkuperäinen, mutta tällä kertaa uudet näkemykset vievät puhtaan voiton. Mikäli kokeellinen elektroninen musiikki kiinnostaa ja Skorpion aiempi tuotanto on tuttua kannattaa tämä mini ehdottomasti hankkia, sillä näytteiden perusteella herran tyyli on kehittymässä ja suunta on mielestäni ainoastaan positiivinen.” (Desibeli)

The album title refers to a psychoactive mushroom that grows on decomposing flesh. The basis of this work was Niko Skorpio's old cassette tape collection from the 1980's. Containing mostly heavy metal demos and live bootlegs, the dozens of kilometres of obsolete tape were sacrificed on the altar of creation.
Magnetic tape — as a symbol of DNA — was deconstructed, cut, mangled, eaten and torn apart by a number of malfunctioning cassette players. These emerging mutations were captured, processed and reconstructed, over and over until a new form began to take shape. Carefully chosen and prepared additional ingredients were then introduced to this primal tissue in order to impregnate it with a new kind of energy. Metaphorically speaking, soul was injected into the golem.
As is common with Niko Skorpio's works, the album works thematically on many levels. On the immediate surface it reflects a surreal journey to the deepest chasms of inner space, where — quite unexpectedly — one may find herself in wholly unfamiliar surroundings. And what's more, one may not find herself alone anymore, but instead, communicating with something unknown. And it always gets the darkest just before dawn. But whatever happens, eventually the dawn comes. In the end we return to where it all began, but affected, observing that things will never be the same again.

Compilation album of rare and unreleased material from the period of 2000–2004. Central to this compilation are the EPs ChAmber Moosick (tracks 1-3, originally released 2001) and Stainway to Heaven (tracks 5-8, originally released 2002). The rest of the contents are previously unreleased; rough demos, remixes, tracks destined for compilations that never happened etc.
Musically, this is a fractal kaleidoscope "almost ritual in its expression", "of dark droning ambient and some sample oriented electro madness, recycling some funk and eastern psychedelic records and just about anything you could imagine, really making it a diverse and fresh listening experience", ranging from "low humming space sounds slowly forming weird melodies" to "happy melodies beating and crackling on top of a fast jazz-accompaniment" to "noise-y buzz of ambient and fragmented resonance". Niko Skorpio "has a sound of his own and a caring hand for details" and his "musical menu has contained more alternative auditory meals than many will even taste in their whole lives". This musick is manic, ecstatic and meditative, and sometimes simply undescribable. Forget coherence, embrace wild mood swings and expect bumps on the road!

Half Born in Half Light is based on the foundations of psychedelic ambient soundscapes and darkly majestic bass drone, over which tribal rhythms and magickal vocal invocations build grotesque alien monoliths whose angles mock the euclidean mathematics of conventional composition. Niko Skorpio is not restricted to one particular genre, but draws on many sources. This makes the music colourful and diverse, yet it remains coherent and has the artist’s unique fingerprints all over (this time literally in the cover as well). If we are to give it a label, let’s call it Hermetic Fusion Musick.
