Rane Knudsen returns with a new full-length recording of eclectic compositions inspired by the ancient orient and fused with contemporary and interpretive elements.
All tracks have been composed by Rane, with a few exceptions: Organ theme on ”Brightest Heaven” by Emil Stampe Frøsig, shawm theme by Thielman Susato (”Hoboeckentanz”, 16th century). The middle section of ”Hortus Conclusus” is an anonymous French Traditional, arr. Mauerbrecher. ”Carmen Vernale” is an ecclesial traditional tune from the Middle Ages, arr. Mauerbrecher.
For this release, Mauerbrecher is – in order of appearance:
Rane Rørdam Knudsen: synths, percussion, vocals, various traditional instruments
Emil Stampe Frøsig: synth organ, acoustic guitar.
Malene Mansfeld-Giese: vocals
