It's been almost 6 years, but The Narrow are finally bringing us their third full-length album, YOU DON'T GET TO QUIT.
Expectations are high, as both their previous masterpieces earned nominations for the prestigious South African Music Awards.
With Hanu de Jong (lead vocalist) now living in New Zealand, The Narrow has scaled down their touring schedule to once a year and focussed on releasing new material.
YOU DON’T GET TO QUIT was a cross-continent project, with half of the album being recorded in South Africa and then being sent to New Zealand where the remainder was recorded as well as mixed.
YOU DON’T GET TO QUIT is an album that is typically “The Narrow”, with a very vintage and hard rock sound. All of the songs have a raw feel to them, yet this album has much more of a commercial appeal, than previous releases.
The Narrow spared no effort on this album, with it being the first release in 2 years— even the artwork was done by an artist in Cuba.
Altogether, YOU DON’T GET TO QUIT is a mature and powerful album, an instant classic and 100% “The Narrow” throughout.
