Don’t be afraid, but Stonelake have changed their sound pretty much from their debut album. This is a progress in the right direction for the band. With more attitude in the songwriting process they have managed to come up with a very personal and tuff CD with a different and slightly new metal style that will please many guys out there. The disc gets very personal due to the characteristic voice of Peter Grundstrom, he blow the dust of from the pipes and scream out his message (we are talking high pitched vocals here).
Some of you might have a hard time dealing with his voice, but no doubt that he sounds very cool. “World Entry” is heavy enough to lift a sumo wrestler on each arm and the album doesn’t missout the touch of good melodies. Stonelake are a fresh star on the over crowded hard rock and metal sky and if you just give it some time you’ll find some nice hard rocking metal treasures. This band will be dangerous in the future. I’m already wonder what they might do with their sound next time. A fantastic new and fresh mix of Scandinavian/European/American hard rock and melodic metal.

The mighty progressive metal band STONELAKE from Sweden seemed to have placed a stranglehold on the future sound of heavy metal. The new album “Uncharted Souls” has the warm salutations of a roaming fire. Each track pulls you into a melodic tempest, the next song stronger and more powerful than the one before.
The soaring vocals of singer Peter Grundstrom conjure up images of both Rob Halford
and Geoff Tate, yet having his own style and line of attack. The wizardry of this ensemble can heard on such songs as “(Tonight) You’re Beyond The Shadows”, “Don’t Leave Me Behind”, “Wonderland” and the title track “Uncharted Souls”. The axeman and keyboardist of StoneLake Jan Akesson, has the harmonic touch of a well-crafted BOSTON song with the punch in the mouth riffs of a Zakk Wylde or Dimebag Darrell. This is all made possible by the steam driven power of Jens Westberg (Drums) & Lasse Johansson (Bass).
An impressive piece of metal magic is intertwined throughout this entire album. Maybe, this can be the calling of a new age of Rock ‘N’ Roll. Perhaps StoneLake and “Uncharted Souls” can return Rock ‘N’ Roll to be former glory.

A great album filled with passion and melodies over the average.
Hard rock with an attitude and behind of it all a wall filled with aor, flavored with keyboards and put some progressive variations on top of that, very bombastic and powerful sound. This is quite aggressive and has few softer moments. The vocals are very very sharp and the guitars are roaring like a monster in some of the songs.
